THE LANES CASE STUDY
My first custom textile collection was created for The Lanes, a project in Nashville that arrived during a period of deep personal healing for me. At that time in my life, I was learning—slowly and sincerely—that nature is the ultimate partner in healing. Not as an idea, but as a lived experience. The rhythms of the natural world, its quiet intelligence and steadiness, became a source of real restoration.
As I moved through that process, I became increasingly aware of how disconnected many people living in the urban core are from those regulating forces. We spend so much of our lives indoors, surrounded by hard edges, speed, and noise. I began to wonder: What if the spaces we live in could quietly offer some of that same support? What if nature could be felt, even in the middle of the city?
That question became the seed for the collection. The textiles were designed to bring natural rhythm, softness, and memory into the architecture—patterns inspired by organic repetition, landscapes, and the subtle order found in the living world. My intention was never to overwhelm, but to create a sense of calm presence—something that works gently in the background, supporting the nervous system and inviting people to settle more fully into their lives.
Being able to bring this collection into the world felt deeply meaningful. It was an act of integration—of my own healing, my design philosophy, and my belief that beauty can be a form of care. These textiles carry that story. They were made with love, patience, and reverence, and they exist to be lived with over time.
This collection marked the beginning of Mable as a living expression of that belief: that what we make, and how we make it, matters—and that thoughtfully created environments can help people feel more at home in themselves.
